Parc Samà

Samà Park is a private garden located in the municipality of Cambrils. This park, declared Element of National Cultural Interest, was built in 1881. His founder, Salvador Samà was Marquis of Marianao and a descendant of Spaniards who made their fortune in Cuba. Mr. Samà created a unique space as a holiday residence inspired by colonial Cuba.

Samà Park has recently been revitalized and we can find exuberant environments that reflect the influence of English, romantic and neoclassical gardens.  In the garden we also find the Palace of the Samà family, an eclectic building presided over by a splendid colonial porch. It is surrounded by a 14-hectare garden in which you can also find various species of flora: 600 palm trees of different varieties, pines, cedars, banana trees, and the exotic taxodium. In addition, the park is completed with species of fauna: fallow deer, pheasants, peacocks, and exotic birds in an attempt to return to the Park one of its original facets: a zoo.

The most poetic element of this garden is undoubtedly the lake, where we can find bridges, caves, and waterfalls. This complex was built by the Barcelona architect Josep Fontseré with the probable collaboration of the young Antoni Gaudí.

Very close

The visit to Samà Park can be completed with a guided tour in the fishing village of Cambrils, located 6 km away. You can visit both the old town and the fishing port.

Cambrils is one of the main tourist towns on the Costa Dorada and it’s an ideal destination both for families and the elderly. It preserves a beautiful old town, “la vila”, with numerous pedestrian streets, quiet and with a rural air. It’s worth highlighting the main square, a porticoed square where the market was held, Lloveras Street, decorated with plants and flowers along its entire length, the remains of the medieval wall, a tower, and a portal. Another point of interest is the fishing port, a small port where traditional fishing gear is used and with which you will learn about the importance of this activity in the history of Cambrils.
